A Turkmen delegation took part in the recent session of the Intergovernmental Committee for Physical Education and Sport in Paris at the UNESCO headquarters from April 3 to 4. The delegation included Turkmenistan's Permanent Representative to UNESCO M. Charyev and the Head of the International Department of Turkmenistan's State Committee for Physical Culture and Sports Sh. Seriaev.
The event was attended by the Chairman of CIGEPS, Chile's Minister of Sports H. Pizarro, UNESCO's Deputy Director-General for Social and Human Sciences G. Ramos, former Chairman of CIGEPS and Azerbaijan's Minister of Youth and Sports F. Gaibov, as well as department heads of UNESCO, representatives of CIGEPS member states, and non-governmental organizations.
The session focused on the outcomes of the 7th International Conference MINEPS VII, which established the "Fit for Life" Alliance. The Alliance works towards expanding investments in sports, promoting gender equality, and combating racism.
