Turkmen weightlifter Davranbek Hasanbaev has won a gold medal at the World Cup in weightlifting held in Phuket, Thailand. The 23-year-old student from the 5th year of the Turkmen State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports claimed the gold medal in the snatch in the 102 kg weight category. Hasanbaev successfully completed three attempts, lifting weights of 180 kg, 185 kg, and 187 kg. In the clean and jerk, the Turkmen athlete finished 14th, and overall, he secured the 5th position.
Hasanbaev has earned a spot at the 2024 Olympic Games. The final Olympic qualification ranking of weightlifters will be published by the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) on May 24th.
