From April 26 to 28, the World Chess Championship among cadets took place in the Albanian city of Durres. The news was reported by the online publication "TurkmenPortal."
Nine-year-old Aya Bayramova, a student of the honored coach of Turkmenistan, Guljahan Ovlyakulieva, won the bronze medal in the "blitz" format. A total of 375 young athletes from 43 countries participated in the competition. During the tournament, Aya scored 7.5 points out of a possible 11, conceding to athletes from Russia and India. Turkmenistan was also represented by Dunya Ruslanova, who, due to a mistake in the final round, took the 7th place. The 5th place in the "blitz" tournament was won by seven-year-old Aylar Khemraeva.
According to the Chess Federation of Turkmenistan, the majority of Turkmen athletes finished in the top of the tournament table.
