In Nukus, a 41-year-old resident from the Khodjeyli district of Karakalpakstan was detained while receiving $11,000, promising to help with employment in the Uzbekistan State Security Service.
According to the State Security Service press office, during the pre-trial investigation, it was revealed that the man had previously promised to arrange jobs for four other individuals there and had received $65,000 from them.
It was noted that the individual had been convicted five times under Article 168 (fraud) of the Uzbekistan Criminal Code.
Currently, criminal cases have been initiated against him under Articles 168 and 28 (types of complicity in a crime) and 211 (bribery) of the Uzbekistan Criminal Code. The investigation is ongoing.
