Employees of the State Security Service and the Department for Combating Economic Crimes at the General Prosecutor's Office have detained two individuals in Andijan who promised a businessman victory in a tender, the SSB press service reported.
According to the agency, a resident of Andijan district (born in 1966) A.B. and a resident of Andijan (born in 1971) Kh.U. conspired and gained the trust of the head of a company operating in road construction.
It is reported that they promised, through high-ranking acquaintances, to secure a project for him to cover a 4 km road with asphalt concrete in the Asakinsky district. For this, they demanded 10% of the project budget (4.2 billion sums).
Law enforcement agencies arrested A.B. while receiving $20,000.
Criminal cases have been initiated against the suspects under Article 168 (fraud) and Article 211 via Article 28 of the Criminal Code (complicity in bribery). They are currently in custody.
