The Mirabad District Court in Uzbekistan has sentenced a former security officer of the Aviation Security Service at Tashkent International Airport to 2 years of restricted freedom for criminal offenses. The State Security Service of Uzbekistan reported that the individual, identified as A.B., had engaged in fraudulent activities.
It was reported that A.B. met a man on social media and promised to help him secure a job for his relative in the Aviation Security Service. In exchange for his services, A.B. requested $2000, but the man could only afford to pay $1800.
On December 6, 2023, during a special operation conducted by the State Security Service and the Department for Combating Economic Crimes at the General Prosecutor's Office, A.B. was apprehended while receiving the $1800 payment.
