Nodirjon Turgunov Appointed as Uzbekistan's New Ambassador to Saudi Arabia

The newly appointed Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Saudi Arabia, Nodirjon Turgunov, has arrived in the capital of Saudi Arabia, as reported by the IA "Dunyo".

At 49 years old, Nodirjon Turgunov graduated from the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies. He began his career as a teacher at a school and later worked as a translator in private structures, the Council of Friendship Societies and Cultural-Enlightenment Relations of Uzbekistan with foreign countries.

He has been part of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs system since 2016. From 2019 to 2021, he served as the Consul General of Uzbekistan in Aktau, Kazakhstan, and from 2021 to 2024, he will be stationed in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Nodirjon Turgunov replaces Ulugbek Maksudov, who served as the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Saudi Arabia from 2018 to 2024 and as the Permanent Representative to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, headquartered in Jeddah.
