The Children's Ombudsman of Uzbekistan, Surayo Rahmonova, has taken control of the situation involving two girls in Karshi who have been subjected to violence and humiliation by their own father for a long time. The press service of the children's ombudsman reported this.

A 16-year-old girl, M., who has a 14-year-old sister, N., revealed that their mother passed away in 2018. According to her, after their mother's death, their father, N.R., committed various indecent and immoral acts towards her for several years, regularly beating her and humiliating her dignity with various insults.

The girls ran away from home several times. Their grandmother filed reports of their disappearance with the law enforcement agencies. Based on the report and to provide a legal assessment of the father's actions, the Karshi Prosecutor's Office initiated a pre-investigation check.

"Since the girls are in a dangerous social and legal situation, they have been placed in the Center for Social and Legal Assistance to Minors at the Department of Internal Affairs of the Kashkadarya region, where they are receiving necessary assistance," the statement said.
