Durdona Shukurulloevna Rahimova has been appointed as the deputy hokim of Tashkent for youth policy, social development, and spiritual enlightenment work. The announcement was made by the press service of the capital's hokimiyat.
Born in Tashkent in 1989, Rahimova graduated from the Jizzakh State Pedagogical Institute in 2013. She began her career in 2012 as the head of the department for working with talented youth and young scientists at the "Kamolot" youth public movement council in the Jizzakh region.
Rahimova held various positions within the "Kamolot" movement, including chief specialist in the children's organization "Kamalak" in Tashkent and head of department at "Kamalak." She also served as the chairperson of the Tashkent City Council of the Youth Union from 2019 to 2020.
In December 2019, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev proposed appointing a woman as the hokim of one of the capital's districts following Rahimova's speech at a youth meeting, emphasizing that women in leadership roles can contribute to reducing corruption and enhancing communication with the people.
In March 2020, Rahimova was appointed as the deputy hokim of Tashkent for youth policy, social development, and spiritual enlightenment work. She held this position until January 2023 when she was appointed as the deputy minister of youth policy and sports, showcasing her dedication to serving the community and empowering the youth in Uzbekistan.
