Rustam Gafurov has been appointed as the Hokim (governor) of Kitab district in the Kashkadarya region. His candidacy was approved during an extraordinary session of the district council on April 2nd.
Born in 1984, Rustam Gafurov is a graduate of the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Melioration, Karshi Engineering and Economics Institute, Banking Academy of Uzbekistan, and the Academy of Public Administration under the President.
Prior to his appointment, he served as the head of the main department of employment and poverty reduction in the Kashkadarya region.
The previous Hokim of the district (since June 2022) was Uktam Pardaev. According to "Daryo" news outlet, he was relieved of his duties at his own request.
