In a major fire that broke out in Istanbul on April 2nd, it has been reported that there are no citizens of Uzbekistan among the deceased or injured. The information was provided by the Uzbekistan Consulate General in the city.
Furthermore, there are no Uzbek nationals among those detained as part of the criminal case initiated in connection with the incident, as highlighted by the consulate.
The fire originated during daytime while repair works were being carried out in the basement of a 16-story residential building. The basement housed a nightclub, which was closed during the month of Ramadan.
Tragically, 29 workers lost their lives, and efforts are underway to identify them. Currently, 5 individuals have been arrested in relation to the incident.
