Uzbekistan has established diplomatic relations with Liechtenstein, making it the 146th country to do so. On March 5th, a joint communique was signed in New York, solidifying the diplomatic ties between the two nations. The document was signed by the Permanent Representative of Uzbekistan to the UN, Ulugbek Lapasov, and the Permanent Representative of Liechtenstein, Christian Wenaweser.
Both parties expressed mutual readiness to strengthen their cooperation within international organizations, including the UN and its specialized agencies. They also agreed to enhance bilateral contacts to explore mutually beneficial areas of cooperation in political, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres. This step is seen as crucial for boosting Uzbekistan's engagement with European countries.
Earlier in January, it was reported that Uganda became the 145th country to establish diplomatic relations with Uzbekistan. The recent development with Liechtenstein further signifies Uzbekistan's commitment to expanding its global diplomatic network.
