On March 6th, a joint communique on the establishment of diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Belize was signed in New York, as reported by the IA "Dunyo". The document was signed by the Permanent Representative of Uzbekistan to the UN, Ulugbek Lapasov, and the Permanent Representative of Belize to the UN, Carlos Fuller.
Both parties expressed interest in strengthening cooperation within international organizations, including the UN and its specialized agencies. An agreement was reached to intensify the search for mutually beneficial areas of bilateral cooperation.
With this development, Belize, located in Central America, became the 147th country with which Uzbekistan has established diplomatic relations. It is worth noting that on March 5th, a joint communique on the establishment of diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Liechtenstein was also signed in New York.
