In a ceremony dedicated to International Women's Day on March 7th in Tashkent, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced the formation of a special commission led by Senate Chair Tanzila Narbaeva. The commission aims to promote women's entrepreneurship and enhance their employment opportunities by March 8, 2025.

The commission, operating in an "emergency" mode in each region, will implement activities to train women in professions, ensure employment, and engage them in entrepreneurship using innovative approaches.

Gulzoda Rashidova, Deputy Chair of the People's Bank, will oversee the financial support for women's business ideas within the commission.

Furthermore, within the Chamber of Commerce, Business Development Bank, and Microcredit Bank, deputy chairs will start working to support women's entrepreneurship. They will provide comprehensive assistance in identifying women with new business ideas, executing initiatives, and developing and implementing projects in every region.

Local authorities, along with the commission, are tasked with ensuring the employment of around 580,000 women in 9,442 neighborhoods.

At least 40% of the credits allocated for family entrepreneurship will support projects proposed by women in neighborhoods. Craftsmanship and entrepreneurial centers will be established in each region, where 205,000 women will be trained in market-demanded skills and entrepreneurship basics.

Subsidies will be allocated to 8,000 women and girls in the "youth notebook" program to start their own businesses and acquire inventory, while 10,000 will receive preferential loans.

A project called "Business Marathon" involving qualified specialists will be launched for 50,000 young women, providing practical assistance in establishing businesses.

Additionally, a program to attract women to entrepreneurship will be developed within a month, with 15 trillion soums allocated for project implementation, including 6 trillion soums for family entrepreneurship projects.

Uzbekistan's embassies in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Japan, South Korea, and Germany plan to attract $100 million in grants to support women's entrepreneurship.

Moreover, the creation of the "Girls' Academy" platform is scheduled to train 100,000 girls in financial, legal, psychological, and reproductive knowledge.
