In Ganja, one of the ancient cities of Azerbaijan, the opening ceremony of the first honorary consulate of Uzbekistan in the country took place. The appointment of Kyanan Jalilov as the first honorary consul of Uzbekistan in Azerbaijan was announced.
The honorary consulate aims to protect the rights and interests of Uzbek citizens, promote economic cooperation, attract investments and tourists to Uzbekistan, as well as develop cultural and humanitarian ties. The event was attended by the head of the executive authority of the city, Niyazi Bayramov, as well as the heads of the Turkish and Georgian consulates in Ganja, representatives of the business community, academia, civil society, and the media.
Following the ceremony, an outreach reception was organized for compatriots living in the city. The establishment of the honorary consulate signifies a step towards strengthening bilateral relations and fostering closer ties between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, enhancing cooperation in various fields for the mutual benefit of both nations.
