The former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Lord David Cameron, is set to visit Uzbekistan on April 23. The news was confirmed by the British Embassy's press service to "Gazeta.uz".

During his visit to Tashkent, David Cameron will hold talks with Uzbekistan's Foreign Minister, Bakhodir Saif. The agenda includes discussions on closer cooperation on key issues such as regional security, increased UK involvement in education development, climate change, bilateral trade, and business ties.

David Cameron's visit to Tashkent is part of an official tour to all five Central Asian states and Mongolia. The trip aims to enhance cooperation in economic development, education, and bolster the independence of the region's countries.

The last British Foreign Secretary to visit Uzbekistan was Malcolm Rifkind in February 1997.
