The ceremony of presenting credentials to newly appointed foreign ambassadors in Uzbekistan took place on May 7th, as reported by the state leader's press service.
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received credentials from the ambassadors of Hungary, József Rózsa, Iran, Mohammadali Iskandari, Czech Republic, Ľubomír Fábort, Oman, Vafy al-Busāidi, and Algeria, Mohamed Irki.
Congratulating the heads of foreign diplomatic missions on their appointments, the country's leader emphasized their role in fostering and developing Uzbekistan's multifaceted cooperation with the countries they represent. In the current geopolitical tensions and economic challenges globally, the importance of diplomats in facilitating constructive dialogue between nations and strengthening friendly and mutually beneficial relations was highlighted.
In his address, the President emphasized the priority directions of Uzbekistan's foreign policy outlined in the "Uzbekistan-2030 Strategy" – strengthening friendship and cooperation with all foreign countries, attracting foreign investments, enhancing industrial and export potential, and creating favorable conditions for the private sector.
President Mirziyoyev underscored that Uzbekistan is a peaceful and just social state, open to the world and consistently reinforcing long-term and multifaceted relationships with its foreign partners. He pointed out the significant economic growth in Uzbekistan over the past seven years, with increased investments, trade volumes, expanding export geography, and the presence of leading global companies and brands in the Uzbek market.
Highlighting the importance of elevating relations with the countries they represent to a new qualitative level, the President expressed confidence that the commencement of air flights between Tashkent and Budapest would enhance business ties and tourist exchanges.
Regarding Hungary, President Mirziyoyev noted Budapest's importance as a reliable partner in Europe, with bilateral relations reaching the level of strategic partnership due to joint efforts and solid commitments over the years.
The President also acknowledged the deep-rooted relations between Uzbekistan and Iran, emphasizing the significant potential for cooperation in various sectors and the importance of fully utilizing cooperation potential in transport corridors and transit.
As for the Czech Republic, President Mirziyoyev highlighted it as a traditional and vital partner within the European Union, with bilateral trade doubling in the past year, showcasing ample opportunities for collaboration in various fields.
Oman was recognized as a crucial partner in the Middle East region, with potential cooperation in agriculture, transportation, logistics, telecommunications, textile industry, and tourism.
Algeria, described as a rapidly developing country in the Arab-Muslim world with substantial economic potential, was noted as a promising partner in Africa. The opening of the Algerian embassy in Tashkent marked a significant step in bilateral relations.
