Timur Rahmanov, the newly appointed Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Latvia, arrived in Riga on March 13th, as reported by the IA "Dunyo".
Prior to his appointment, he served as Consul General in Novosibirsk since 2021, covering the Siberian Federal District of Russia. Aged 46, Rahmanov is a graduate of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy.
He began his career in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1999, holding various positions in the ministry's central office, as well as in Uzbekistan's embassies in Poland, Italy, and Spain. From 2017 to 2018, he served as the head of the territorial department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Urgench.
Rahmanov succeeded Kadambay Sultanov as the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Latvia. Sultanov had been serving as the Ambassador to Latvia since 2019, concurrently in Finland and Estonia since 2020, and in Lithuania since 2021.
