Uzbekistan President Meets Kazakh Delegation to Strengthen Cooperation

President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, welcomed the Kazakh government delegation led by Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov on March 15, as reported by the state press service. Mirziyoyev congratulated Bektenov on his recent appointment and wished him success in his new role.

During the meeting, they discussed enhancing Uzbek-Kazakh cooperation, focusing on setting a new agenda for upcoming high-level joint events. The need to remove barriers and increase mutual trade volumes was emphasized, particularly through the efforts of the working group led by authorized ministers.

They also explored deepening cooperation in industry, transportation, and logistics, key areas in the strategic partnership between the two countries. The importance of advancing new investment programs in priority sectors and regional infrastructure projects in transportation and energy was highlighted.

President Mirziyoyev stressed the significance of maintaining close and systematic government-level contacts to significantly expand mutually beneficial cooperation between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
