The Children's Rights Commissioner of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan received a complaint from a woman whose ex-husband prohibited their daughter from traveling abroad, the child ombudsman's press service reported.
It was reported that the man did not allow their daughter (born in 2011), who is a member of the national swimming team, to travel abroad for training for international swimming competitions and participation in the Asian Games, and hindered the process of obtaining a passport.
The child ombudsman and other authorities explained to the man about the prospects and future opportunities for his daughter, after which he granted permission for her to travel, as stated in the announcement.
