Notary in Shymkent Sentenced for Fraudulent Real Estate Transactions

A private notary in Shymkent attempted to deceive clients but faced consequences. The city prosecutor's office revealed the details of the crime. The notary repeatedly drafted and certified sales contracts instead of loan or mortgage agreements. He then unlawfully registered the contracts, transferring property rights to third parties and causing 47 million tenge in damages to 9 victims. As a result, the notary was sentenced to four years in prison, along with his accomplices. The prosecutor's office urges Shymkent residents to be cautious when dealing with notaries and consult lawyers when necessary. In February 2024, changes were reported in the notaries' transaction practices.
