In Astana, two police officers who were involved in the arrest of former Minister of National Economy Kuandyk Bishimbayev have been held accountable.

During the court hearings regarding the murder of Saltanat Nukenova, a video of the arrest of her husband, Kuandyk Bishimbayev, with a police badge was shown. In the video, a police officer asked the detainee, "She probably stabbed herself." Following this incident, an internal investigation was launched. Additionally, another officer present at the scene is under scrutiny after footage from the video showed him smoking and spitting on the ground while with the detainee.

On May 27th, the Ministry of Internal Affairs announced that the first officer, a patrol police inspector, received a reprimand for breaching disciplinary rules.

On May 13th in Astana, Judge Aizhan Kulbayeva pronounced the verdict for Kuandyk Bishimbayev, who was accused of the brutal murder of his wife, Saltanat Nukenova.
