The General Prosecutor's Office commented on the case of the beating of two-year-old Egor during a meeting of the Committee on Law and Order, Combating Crime, and Anti-Corruption of the Jogorku Kenesh.

Deputy Prosecutor General Umutkan Konkubaeva stated that the supervisory authority has started studying the materials of the case, which have been separated into a separate proceeding.

"In the criminal case, there is material separated into a separate proceeding. The boy has injuries on his body. However, bruises and wounds on Egor's head are not visible. Therefore, the expert did not notice them. A computer tomography showed a crack on the skull. The expert wrote that Egor could have fallen or someone hit him, he could not determine the time of injury," said Umutkan Konkubaeva.

She added that the materials of the case are also being reviewed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Deputy Aisuluu Mamashova noted that this issue has been under consideration for the second week.

  • "When will our relevant authorities start protecting children? When it comes to children and women, you either have no information or fail to do your job. This is not just about Samarkin. Before this, I told you about the beating of a 7-year-old boy, his mother appealed. Investigators protect the abusers. The boy was admitted to the hospital with a cranial-brain injury, and the culprit was released on probation, claiming that he caused minor harm to health. Where is justice? We start to sound the alarm only when a person dies," the MP expressed her outrage.

Aisuluu Mamashova expressed outrage that the suspect in the case of beating two-year-old Egor was released on probation. She demanded a review of the case materials, as the boy has a cranial-brain injury, genital damage, purulent infections, and many other injuries.

Earlier, the Supreme Court explained that the suspect Alexander Samarkin was charged with committing a less serious crime. According to the law, this allows for probation supervision.

On February 3 of last year, a two-year-old child was admitted to the Sokuluk Territorial Hospital with signs of torture - cranial-brain trauma with a crack, displacement of cervical vertebrae, broken nose and ear cartilage, multiple burns all over the body, including from extinguished cigarette butts. The little Egor had nerve endings in both hands torn, and a cut on the genital organ inflicted by the tormentor.

A criminal case was initiated regarding the torture of the child. The police detained 34-year-old Alexander Samarkin on suspicion of brutally beating the child. The authorities stated that the suspect constantly beat the child and his father, repeatedly shot the father in the legs with an air rifle. The reason for the abuse was debt.

The child's mother and father were deprived of parental rights for the duration of the investigation, and the children were placed under temporary guardianship of the grandmother (father's mother). The accused was sentenced to five years of imprisonment.

In June 2023, the Supreme Court overturned the verdict against Alexander Samarkin and sentenced him to two years of probation supervision.
