Investigation in Ex-Minister's Case: Bloggers Testify in Court

in Crime / Kazakhstan - by

The prosecution in the trial of former minister Kuandyk Bishimbayev has requested to question blogger Gulnara Nasyrbekova, who had contact with the defendant on the day of Saltanat Nukenova's death. The prosecutor also sought to question clairvoyant Erezhepova and housekeeper Seitova. So far, only Nasyrbekova has been questioned, revealing details of her acquaintance with Bishimbayev and their meeting at the Bau restaurant.

Nasyrbekova explained that Bishimbayev invited her to Bau for coffee and conversation, mentioning her blog and advertising. She clarified that their interaction was normal, with Bishimbayev complimenting her children and expressing interest in collaborating with her daughter, a beauty blogger. Nasyrbekova detailed their 1.5-hour meeting and the arrival of her friend Aigerym.

Regarding Bishimbayev's behavior on November 9th, Nasyrbekova mentioned he was dressed in dark attire and drank champagne while she had water. She denied any medical discussions or unusual requests during their meeting. Nasyrbekova also clarified the context behind the phrase "You smell like roses," explaining it was meant for a relative but was mistakenly sent to Bishimbayev.

She concluded by stating her lack of interest in Bishimbayev and how a message mix-up led to confusion. The court previously examined Bishimbayev's phone records, including social media conversations on WhatsApp, shedding light on his interactions on the day of Nukenova's death.
