Controversial Kazakh blogger Aidyn Tussupov has been detained in Bishkek, as reported by media sources.
Initially, the blogger himself shared this information on his Instagram account.
"I have been detained in Bishkek. It is unclear why. They grabbed me right in the hotel, I am at the police station," he posted in his stories.
Today, on April 25, the information was confirmed by the police. According to reports, the 34-year-old Kazakh blogger Aidyn Tussupov was brought to the department.
"On April 24, during monitoring of the social network, a video was identified where bloggers from Kazakhstan use obscene language in the Yntymak park. The fact was registered in the Juvenile Department of the Interior Ministry of the Oktyabrsky district. A pre-investigation check has been initiated," the police explained the reason for the detention.
Law enforcement officers located the blogger and brought him to the investigative department of the Interior Ministry. He was then handed over to the local police officers, who held a preventive conversation with Tussupov.
Aidyn Tussupov was released from custody in the fall of 2023. In 2021, he was sentenced to 3.5 years in prison for a prank involving the hijacking of a taxi in Moscow.
