Police officers of the North Kazakhstan region have detained a 23-year-old suspect in the sale of synthetic drugs. The drug dealer was found in possession of 25 packets of "synthetics," as reported by the local news source.
According to the operatives, the young man had been working as a courier for only a week. The police apprehended the drug courier in one of the garage cooperatives in Petropavlovsk. Law enforcement officers seized 25 packets containing a white powdery substance from him. Expert analysis revealed that the substance confiscated was mephedrone, with a total weight of 28.12 grams.
"The suspect arrived in the regional capital from one of the districts specifically to work as a courier for an online drugstore, but his criminal activities lasted no more than a week. Now, he faces a sentence of 10 to 15 years of imprisonment for drug trafficking on a large scale," stated the head of the Department for Combating Drug Crimes of the North Kazakhstan Region, Ruslan Saparov.
Since the beginning of the year, the police in the North Kazakhstan Region have brought 36 individuals to criminal responsibility for drug trafficking, with 20 of them aged between 18 and 25 years.
Earlier, it was reported that a coach in the Akmola region was convicted for drug distribution. According to information from the criminal court of the region, a coach of a children's and youth sports school in the Arshalyn district was apprehended while transporting narcotics from Astana for distribution in the Arshalyn district. During the search of his vehicle, four packages containing hashish with a total weight of over 39 kg were found.
