May 3, 2024 saw the continuation of legal arguments in the case of Kuandyk Bishimbayev. Defender of Bakhytzhan Bayzhanov, Gaziz Yntykbaev, appeared in court, as reported by a correspondent.
Lawyer Gaziz Yntykbaev noted that his defendant found himself at the center of tragic events involuntarily.
"Bayzhanov, one could say, became a hostage of circumstances that unfolded around him. These circumstances not only made him an accidental participant but also, in a way, a victim. Perhaps he was misled due to lack of information. He could not have known what was on Bishimbayev's mind on that tragic day. We must acknowledge that Bayzhanov was in the wrong place at the wrong time," voiced the lawyer.
He stated that from the early hours of the investigation until the court, Bayzhanov consistently repeated the same thing. His testimony remained unchanged.
"In court, every action of my client Bayzhanov was thoroughly analyzed. He realizes and acknowledges his moral responsibility, does not deny that he could have done more or acted differently in this situation. He regrets not being able to recognize the critical condition Saltanat was in. He admits that he showed carelessness, and his misconception was due to Bishimbayev's usual behavior," added Gaziz Yntykbaev.
According to him, November 9 was a regular working day for his client. This emphasizes that he was unaware of the crime committed.
Earlier, the court announced the conclusion of the judicial investigation and the transition to the arguments of the parties. Prosecutor Aizhan Aymaganova presented the prosecution's position. Later, Saltanat Nukhanova's brother, Aitbek Amangelde, appealed to the jurors and asked for justice.
Also, the lawyer representing the victims' side, Zhanna Urazbakova, spoke in court and stated that the guilt of Bishimbayev and Bayzhanov in the committed crime is fully proven by the evidence presented by the prosecution. The same opinion is held by lawyer Damir Ishmametov.
Leila Ramazanova voiced the defense's position. In the arguments, lawyer Erlan Gazymzhanov also expressed his opinion. He believes that there was no benefit for Kuandyk Bishimbayev in killing Saltanat Nukhanova. The mother of the defendant, Almira Nurlibekova, apologized to the relatives of Saltanat Nukhanova while speaking in court.
