In the Specialized Interdistrict Court for Criminal Cases in Astana, the trial of the former Minister of National Economy Kuandyk Bishimbayev and the director of "Gastrocenter" Bakhytzhan Bayzhanov continues.
During the session on May 13, 2024, Judge Aizhan Kulbayeva presented the questions that will be posed to the jurors to reach a verdict regarding the defendants. Following this, Kulbayeva announced that the court and the jurors had adjourned to a consultation room to make a decision. The timing of the verdict for Bishimbayev and Bayzhanov will be communicated separately.
It is worth noting that on May 10, during a court session, the parties discussed and formulated questions to be resolved by the court with the participation of the jurors. On May 2, 2024, the court announced the completion of the judicial investigation and transition to the arguments of the parties. Prosecutor Aizhan Aimaghanova presented the prosecution's position. Later, Aitbek Amangel'dy, the brother of Saltanat Nukhenova, addressed the jurors and appealed for justice.
In court, the mother of the defendant Almira Nurlibekova apologized to the relatives of Nukhenova. On May 3, Kuandyk Bishimbayev voiced his position.
