Judge-coordinator for interaction with the media Alma Esymova at a press conference after the court process on May 13, spoke about the ongoing threats against Judge Aizhan Kulbayeva.
She noted that the investigation into the threats against the judge is ongoing. "So far, we have no data on whether any decision has been made. The judge is under protection."
When asked how long she will be under protection, the judge replied that "the question of security measures is decided by the investigator and the cancellation is made by the investigating authority."
Earlier in court, the verdict was announced in the case of the murder of Saltanat Nukenova: Kuandyk Bishimbayev was sentenced to 24 years in prison. The father of the deceased Amangel'da Nukenov commented on the verdict in the court corridors on May 13.
