Astana to Dim Lights of 30+ Landmarks for Earth Hour Campaign

Astana will join the international Earth Hour campaign by turning off the illumination of over 30 major architectural objects and buildings on March 23 for one hour from 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm.

The capital city will be part of the global initiative aimed at raising public awareness about climate change. According to the official website of the Astana Akimat, the 2024 Earth Hour in Kazakhstan is dedicated to the theme of preserving the country's nature, urging all residents to make a conscious choice to start helping the local environment.

The Akimat of Astana has announced the list of buildings supporting the campaign, including administrative buildings, residential complexes, hotels, cultural centers, and monuments. Among them are the Akimat of Astana, the State Academic Philharmonic named after E. Rakhmadiev, various residential complexes like "Grand Alatau" and "Arman," hotels like "Radisson Hotel Astana" and "Park Inn by Radisson," as well as cultural landmarks such as the Palace of Schoolchildren named after M. Utemisov and the Nur-Alem Museum Pavilion.

Earlier on March 11, 2024, the Astana Akimat addressed the residents and guests of the capital regarding the International environmental action "Earth Hour." The participation of Astana in this global initiative showcases the city's commitment to environmental conservation and sustainability.
