New Traffic Cameras Installed in Almaty by Sergek Group

in Society / Kazakhstan - by

In Almaty, new cameras with large lenses have been spotted on Saina and VOAD streets. According to Sergek Group, these specialized transport cameras have higher resolution and a polarization filter to combat glare, providing clearer images even in low light conditions.

It has been reported that 30 hardware and software complexes equipped with these new cameras have already been installed in Almaty, with plans for a total of 300 complexes in the city. These complexes do not currently record additional traffic violations, but they monitor if drivers yield to pedestrians at crossings and if drivers and passengers are wearing seat belts.

In February 2024, Sergek Group conducted monitoring in Almaty streets to identify vehicles with "dirty emissions." The data collected was intended to be handed over to the city police on February 10th.
