Regions with the Highest Alimony Debt Revealed by Ministry of Justice

During a briefing on March 29, 2024, the official representative of the Ministry of Justice, Talgat Uali, disclosed which regions have the highest alimony debt. According to him, there are currently 291,392 enforcement proceedings for alimony, with 12,345 being problematic, totaling 14.6 billion tenge.

The regions with the most problematic cases are:

- Turkestan region: 806 cases amounting to 2.185 billion tenge

- Almaty region: 2,579 cases amounting to 1.943 billion tenge

- Nur-Sultan: 1,802 cases amounting to 1.877 billion tenge

- Shymkent: 728 cases amounting to 1.29 billion tenge

In Almaty, there are 1,145 cases under proceedings totaling 528 million tenge. Conversely, the regions with the least problematic alimony cases are Akmola, Atyrau, and Ulytau.

It was previously reported that non-payers of alimony in Almaty were compelled to surrender a three-bedroom apartment and a Lexus.
