in Society / Kazakhstan - by

The public fund "Қазақстан халқына" has announced its readiness to collect funds to support fellow citizens living in flooded regions. Responding to President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev's call to provide maximum support to all residents and regions affected by natural disasters, the fund will finance the construction of 200 houses in rural areas totaling 5 billion tenge.

Citizens and organizations are reaching out to the fund with inquiries about participating in providing charitable assistance to flood victims. The fund is prepared to collect and ensure transparent and targeted use of the received funds, in response to the initiative of citizens and businesses.

All voluntary donations from legal entities and individuals from April 1 to April 30 will be directed towards building housing in rural areas for the affected individuals, based on decisions and with the support of local executive bodies. The fund will publish a detailed report listing donors and the amounts contributed.

As of April 3, the fund has received charitable contributions totaling over 630 million tenge from companies and private individuals. Donations are accepted only in non-cash form through accounts in eight second-tier Kazakhstani banks listed on the official website. Individuals can transfer funds through mobile banking applications in the "Charity" section.
