During a court hearing regarding the murder case of seven-year-old Milana Davydova in the suburb of Ekibastuz, the defendants started shifting the blame onto each other.
According to the investigation, the girl's mother and their neighbor were involved in intimate relations and shared a love for alcohol. Now both pretend to be unfamiliar with each other, prohibiting the showing of their faces and mentioning of names.
The tragedy occurred last autumn when Milana returned home from school and allegedly found her mother with her lover, threatening to tell everything to her father. The investigators believe that the woman first brutally beat her daughter, then handed a belt to the man who strangled the child. They then buried the body under a pile of ash near the house. Milana's brother, who witnessed the crime by chance, was threatened with reprisal.
Today, the main defendant claimed that the killer was the girl's mother, and he was only helping to dispose of the body. The mother, who has been giving brief answers, denied killing her daughter but admitted to witnessing the neighbor strangling Milana.
During the trial, the girl's father mentioned that neighbors had told him about his wife's infidelities, but he did not believe them. He acknowledged that his wife could scold Milana, but overall described her as submissive.
The proceedings had to be quickly concluded after one of the defendants complained of feeling unwell. It was clarified that she had already been stripped of parental rights, and her other children were in an orphanage. Specialists are working with the boy who witnessed his sister's murder as he is still in shock.
Milana was missing for almost two days before her body was discovered on November 19, shocking the residents of Beskauga and the entire region. Later, it was revealed that the mother and neighbor were suspected of committing the crime.
On March 26, 2024, a preliminary hearing was held at the specialized interdistrict court in Pavlodar regarding the murder of Milana Davydova. The girl's mother and her lover, residents of Beskauga, were on trial.
