Efforts Intensify in West Kazakhstan Region to Combat Rising Flood Situation

The flood situation in West Kazakhstan Region is critical, with the water level in the Ural River reaching seven meters in Uralsk. Governor Nariman Turegaliyev has addressed residents, emphasizing the imminent threat to 94 settlements.

Turegaliyev has mobilized necessary resources, including the construction of dams and the deployment of 200 pieces of equipment and around 1,000 personnel. Precautionary measures are also in place for other at-risk areas.

The governor has expressed gratitude to rescue teams, police, military personnel, and public service workers for their dedication. He stressed the importance of community support and solidarity during this challenging time.

Local residents in suburban Uralsk were evacuated on April 8 due to the flood threat. Turegaliyev has urged calmness and mutual assistance, emphasizing unity and cooperation in overcoming the flood-related difficulties.
