Comprehensive Support Provided to Flood Victims in Pavlodar Region

in Society / Kazakhstan - by

Following the instructions of the head of state, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the region is providing comprehensive support to those affected by floods, swiftly compensating for the damages caused. So far, 107 families have received compensation totaling 96.7 million tenge from non-budgetary sponsor funds. Among them, 9 residents of the village of Zhalauly, whose homes were severely affected during the flood, have received payments.

Additionally, the akim of the Pavlodar region, Asain Baikhanov, and village elders have initiated the construction of five new houses to replace those irreparably damaged, with the costs covered by ERG. The construction of these houses is expected to be completed within three months. Furthermore, affected residents will receive a one-time state social payment of up to 100 MRP.

The measures to combat floods in the village will continue, with the construction of a 6 km protective dam and the completion of three reservoirs to accumulate meltwater totaling 200,000 m3 by the end of July. These initiatives aim to holistically address the village's flooding issues due to its low-lying location.
