Ethics Council Recommends Dismissal of Village Head in Kazakhstan for Drunk Driving

The Ethics Council of the Agency for Civil Service Affairs in the Karaganda Region recommended the dismissal of the head of Gabiden Mustafin village in the Bukhar-Zhyrau district, Kairat Kusainov, for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Astana TV was informed about this by Rustam Tanishpekov, a member of the Ethics Council and the head of the NGO "Adildik Zholy" in the Karaganda Region.

It is noted that this is not the first time the official has been caught driving drunk. In 2018, following the Ethics Council's recommendation, Kusainov was disciplined with a severe reprimand for driving a government vehicle while intoxicated. In 2020, he was punished for driving while being deprived of the right to operate a vehicle.

Earlier in February, a village head in the Akmola Region was arrested for drunk driving.
