In the Akmola region, police found a man who had been missing for six years. The 40-year-old resident of the capital was located in the village of Shalkar in the Korgalzhyn district.
In the summer of 2018, the man's sister filed a statement with the police in Astana, stating that her brother had left home and never returned. The man was searched for not only by the city police but also by the regional authorities.
After extensive searches, the man was placed on an international wanted list. He was discovered in a private house where he had arrived a few months earlier. The reasons for his prolonged absence are currently being investigated by the police.
The General Prosecutor's Office of Kazakhstan has disclosed the number of missing persons. According to the agency, men are the most common category among the missing individuals.
