Construction of New Schools in Almaty's Bostandyk District Nearing Completion

The head of Almaty, Erbolat Dosayev, announced that the construction of a new school with 1100 seats in the Bostandyk district will be completed before the start of the new academic year. In addition to this, seismic reinforcement works for school No. 73 and the construction of an extension for a new building with 450 seats will begin in the second quarter of 2024. Renovation works are also ongoing for schools No. 10, No. 70, and Gymnasium No. 138.

Dosayev highlighted that the construction projects are part of the national project "Comfortable School" with the support of the project office of the Almaty city administration. Three new schools are being built on Egizbaev Street with 2500 seats, Rozybakiev Street with 1500 seats, and Kozhabekov Street with 2000 seats, all scheduled to be completed by the end of 2024.

In 2023, construction of extensions for School No. 65 with 300 student places and for Special Correctional Boarding School No. 9 with 120 seats were completed in the Bostandyk district. Additionally, a major renovation was carried out at Gymnasium No. 145 in December last year.

During a meeting, the Almaty mayor also disclosed the locations where engineering networks in the city are planned to be renovated.
