Female Soldiers in Kazakhstan National Guard Celebrated and Honored

in Society / Kazakhstan - by

Nearly two thousand women serve in the ranks of the National Guard of Kazakhstan, with over two hundred holding officer positions. These female servicemembers are actively involved in combat duty, communication hubs, military medical support, logistical and financial aspects of the troops. They participate in women's councils addressing social welfare issues for personnel and supporting young military families. Despite their military responsibilities, these women are also valued as integral parts of male-dominated teams, devoted wives, loving mothers, and pillars of support for their families.

During a celebratory event, Lieutenant General Erkin Botakanov, the Commander-in-Chief of the National Guard, praised the women for their dedication to the country's security and for fostering a positive atmosphere within military units. He expressed gratitude for their warmth, kindness, and the light they bring into the hearts of others. In honor of the occasion, female servicemembers were awarded and recognized with commemorative gifts on behalf of the Minister of Internal Affairs and the Deputy Minister - the Commander-in-Chief of the National Guard of the Republic of Kazakhstan, including those who are currently retired.

Additionally, the event included an award ceremony for the finalists and winners of the "Miss National Guard 2024" photo contest. This annual contest within law enforcement agencies featured 55 female servicemembers from all regional command units. Among them, Senior Financial Specialist of the military unit 5571, Corporal Karlygash Bolusbaeva, was awarded the first-degree diploma and the title of "Miss National Guard - 2024."

On the occasion of International Women's Day, the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, extended his congratulations to the women of Kazakhstan.
