Violation of Construction Regulations Leads to Halting of Works on 33 Residential Complexes in Astana

in Society / Kazakhstan - by

In Astana, construction works have been suspended at 33 sites, including multi-storey residential complexes (MJK), due to violations.

Currently, there are 33 residential construction sites in the capital without the necessary permits. The authorities have taken administrative actions, issuing orders to halt the works.

In 2023, the urban environment control and quality management department of the capital sent 115 lawsuits to the specialized inter-district economic court of Astana for the suspension of construction and demolition works. Out of these:

- Three lawsuits are under review in court.

- 26 lawsuits were dismissed due to compliance with the requirements of the orders.

- 86 lawsuits were satisfied.

- 77 court decisions are being executed by the Department of Justice in Astana.

According to the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Shared Participation in Housing Construction, construction companies can attract funds from stakeholders through various methods, ensuring transparency and legal compliance.

The press service of the Astana Akimat provided a list of 33 MJK sites where construction works have been halted due to violations. The companies involved in these projects are facing legal consequences.

The authorities also addressed a recent incident where lists were published on Instagram, claiming that the Astana Akimat planned to change the purpose of certain areas and structures from social to commercial. The Capital Akimat dismissed this information as absurd, emphasizing their commitment to legal procedures.

Individuals engaging in real estate transactions that bypass existing laws were urged to contact the authorized body, the Urban Environment Control and Quality Management Department in Astana, to rectify the situation.

The Astana Akimat continues its efforts to ensure compliance with construction regulations and maintain the quality of urban development in the capital city.
