Investigation Reveals Violations in Schools in Atyrau

Five school directors in Atyrau face administrative consequences for concealing incidents of violence by high school students. A prosecutorial check identified over 1200 violations in educational institutions of all ownership forms, primarily related to safety, construction, state procurement, educational quality, sanitary-epidemiological norms, and fire safety.

For instance, it was found that three individuals with prior criminal records for offenses against minors and causing serious harm were employed in schools. Additionally, students in 16 state and one private school had access to prohibited online content, leading to restricted access and administrative repercussions for the offenders.

The investigation covered 29 state and 11 private schools, resulting in 91 recommendations for violation rectification. 108 legal and 55 staff members face administrative consequences, one individual faces criminal charges for using a fake diploma, and two pre-trial investigations have begun. Moreover, state procurement worth 353 million tenge has been suspended.

Previously, a first-grader's mother raised concerns about potential violence against her child at an international school in Almaty. Zakon.kz sought clarification from the educational institution and the Police Department.
