The official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan, Shyngys Alekeshev, addressed the issue of nasvay consumption, highlighting its harmful effects. Nasvay, produced in unsanitary conditions, contains substances that can lead to various diseases, including cancer. The law now prohibits the import, production, sale, and distribution of non-smoking tobacco products, including nasvay.
Alekeshev emphasized that illegal sales of such products will result in fines. To uphold law and order, law enforcement agencies will conduct a preventive operation until the end of March to educate the public on the dangers of nasvay and the importance of complying with the ban.
Furthermore, a bill introducing criminal liability for the import, production, sale, and distribution of vaping and non-smoking tobacco products is under consideration in Parliament. These measures aim to safeguard the health of the younger generation and combat harmful habits in Kazakhstan.
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, during the National Council meeting, expressed concern over the low accountability for nasvay production and distribution in the country. He stressed the need to address the issue, labeling nasvay consumption as one of the most harmful and shameful habits among Kazakh citizens.
