The Minister of Health of Kazakhstan, Akmaral Alnazarova, addressed the Mazhilis on March 18, 2024, revealing numerous cases of financial discipline violations, embezzlement, and unjustified payments of salaries and bonuses.
Alnazarova emphasized the need for the Ministry of Health to ensure the high efficiency of financial resources in the healthcare system and to enhance the population's satisfaction with medical care.
The Ministry is taking measures to tighten control over the targeted and rational use of funds allocated for medical care and medication. Numerous violations of financial discipline, embezzlement, and unjustified payments have been uncovered in medical organizations as a result of inspections.
According to the Minister, several officials involved in the identified violations have been subject to strict disciplinary action, including dismissals, while some cases have been referred to law enforcement agencies for criminal prosecution.
Previously, Deputy Asqat Aimagambetov criticized the Ministry of Health's approaches to the healthcare insurance system.
