Criminal Cases Opened Against Four Deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh in 2023

In 2023, criminal cases have been initiated against four deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh. This information was disclosed by the Prosecutor General, Kurmankul Zulushev, during a joint meeting of parliamentary committees on constitutional legislation and law enforcement.

According to Zulushev, three cases have been sent to court for consideration, while one has been closed. The criminal case against former deputy Zhanybek Abirov was closed due to reconciliation between the parties. Cases against Omurbek Bakirov, Emil Zhamgyrchiev, and Adakhan Madumarov have been referred to the courts, as highlighted by the head of the supervisory authority.

During the joint meeting, the deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh heard the annual report of Kurmankul Zulushev on the state of legality in the Kyrgyz Republic in 2023 and the efforts undertaken by the prosecutor's office to reinforce it.
