Investigation ongoing after baby's tragic death in Bishkek orphanage

The director of a children's rehabilitation and family support center in Bishkek shared a concerning incident where a woman bought a four-month-old baby girl for $3,400 without proper documents or medical records. The infant, who was brought to the orphanage on April 8, tragically passed away four days later.

Authorities were alerted when the woman attempted to obtain official documents for the child. Despite no visible abnormalities, the baby girl suddenly turned blue before any medical procedures could be performed, leading to her premature death.

Specialists closely monitored the infant during her brief stay at the orphanage. The cause of death is pending the results of an autopsy to determine if there were any underlying health conditions or genetic abnormalities.

The absence of documentation and medical history for the baby has raised concerns about a potential undiagnosed illness or genetic disorder. The incident has sparked accusations of negligence against the staff at the rehabilitation center, prompting legal action by the General Prosecutor's Office.

An investigation has been launched into the situation under the charge of "negligence," with local police and social services personnel under scrutiny. Updates on the case are anticipated as the investigation unfolds.
