Authorities Seize Smuggled Walnuts in Batken

In Batken, a shipment of contraband walnuts was intercepted by the State Customs Service. The cargo, consisting of 6,745 kilograms of shelled and unshelled walnuts, was discovered in a Mercedes-Benz 814 driven by a citizen of Uzbekistan. The goods were found to lack proper documentation, including customs paperwork, with a total value of 1,577,500 som.

The case has been registered in the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations and transferred to the Batken region prosecutor's office. Following a court decision, the vehicle and its contents have been confiscated for the benefit of the state.
