The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs announced that a teacher from the International Medical University has been apprehended in Bishkek for suspected bribery extortion.
Reportedly, a criminal case has been opened under Article 208 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. The allegations suggest that the teacher has been demanding money since November 2023 and coercing students.
Law enforcement officers apprehended the extortionist in the act of receiving a bribe of 81,000 soms inside the university premises. The suspect is currently in temporary detention.
