Authorities have initiated a criminal case against a local kenesh deputy in the Issyk-Kul region for purchasing a fake school certificate. This information was reported by the press center of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB).

The investigation revealed that K.U., being aware of the procedure for nominating candidates for village kenesh deputies, in 2020 bought a counterfeit high school diploma issued by the school named after B. Mambetov. The document was used during the registration as a candidate for the local kenesh deputy in January 2021. The fact is recorded under the article 'Use of a knowingly forged official document' of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic," the statement reads.

Therefore, as the security officials noted, K.U., who did not have a completed secondary education, was illegally registered by the territorial election commission of the Tonsky district as a candidate and subsequently elected as a deputy of the Bolot Mambetovsky village kenesh.

The investigation is ongoing.
