In Osh, the leader of an international drug group known in criminal circles as Shrek has been detained. This was reported by the press center of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic. Authorities confiscated a kilogram of hashish from him.
According to the State Committee for National Security, Shrek organized an international channel for the supply of narcotic substances with neighboring countries. He was apprehended on April 29 and placed in pre-trial detention by the State Committee for National Security.
"Based on available operational data, Y.M. is one of the main drug dealers in the Osh region, controlling the majority of the drug flow. He operated under the protection of criminal leaders. He is registered with the Ministry of Internal Affairs as the leader of an organized criminal drug group. He has faced criminal charges in Russia for the sale and storage of heroin," the statement said.
The State Committee for National Security noted that they are continuing their efforts to combat the illegal drug trade.
